“I had a really great time! I like the DIY nature of every space being open to have neighbors experience where art is being made in our city. It brings us together in community around a common thing—art and creativity. I also like how Tacoma Arts facilitates the event with printed material and media blasts but then enjoys the events and allows artists to create our own worlds at our respective studios. I love that!”

TIPS FOR VISITORS

Wear comfortable shoes and clothing

Studios vary in layout—some may be in converted garages, lofts, or backyards. Dress for the weather and be ready to explore.

Respect the Space

Studios are active creative environments. Please don’t touch artwork or tools without permission. Many artists love questions—just ask!

Support Local Artists

Many participating artists sell original work on-site. Buying art is a direct way to support Tacoma’s creative community. Most artists accept cards and mobile payment. Some may accept cash.

Bring your people

The Studio Tour is great for families and groups! Many locations are kid-friendly and welcome curious visitors of all ages.
