Printing an image on the letterpress to take home. Free Drop-in Open Workshop during Tacoma Arts Month Studio Tours Oct 11-12 by Kirsten of Turn-of-the-Centuries, hosted at the studio of Katie Dean of Little Green. Katie and Kirsten will showcase and sell their work alongside demonstrations of their process. Katie will make prints from her hand-carved blocks on her C & P Letterpress Printer. Kirsten will provide paints and a watercolor sheet with the block outline/street grid of your Tacoma Neighborhood lightly printed on it - the same she uses to create her map paintings. Together, we can marvel at the old-school process of analog printing and take time to engage in the meditative process of painting. As we paint in the blocks and seeing our own beloved neighborhoods emerge, perhaps stories and experiences of living in community will emerge as we think about where we live, its features, memories, relationships, how the Place has "made us."
